I've been craving Pho constantly and instead of meals, I've only been drinking Jasmine tea from home. The only song I want to listen to is "Hey" from the Pixies even though I never knew what they were referring to or what the song's about; it's my song. I haven't been this comfortable with myself and my surroundings in a very long time. I still never sleep, I'm still addicted to coffee, I still get mad, I still get sad, I'm still prideful, I still get envious, I still say things I shouldn't, I still don't talk when I should, I still work too much, I still eat out too much, I still get excited and I still get disappointed but I'm at peace at what I do and how I feel instead of fixing it. This year was a really long journey of finding a place in my own brain that and I think I've found it just in time for the new year.

A few epiphanies/things:
-Being jobless for the past few weeks has left me too much time to myself-- bittersweet, but I think my mind already wanders enough when it's busy. I found a new job, but I am in search of another.

-I am only a sweet tooth when it comes to ice cream.

-I realized that some of the best times in my life were spent with you. I mean this in the least bitter way possible: just because I was with you during those times doesn't mean that you were the one that made that time period "worth it." I'm lucky to have experienced you and everything that came with the time we spent together, but I've come to terms that every experience will involve someone, whether it be romantic or not, life is just best spent with people around to share it with.

I'm generally a shy person--shy to approach others, shy to confront, shy shy shy. For me to really do something big, it has to be spontaneous, like all my tattoos, jobs, and relationships. I've been trying to change that habit. Doing everything spontaneously has helped me open up my shell at times, but involves much more clean-up and retrospective problem solving in the longrun than if I were to just think things through (but of course, more thinking allows allows me room to back down again).

I've put myself in a few more messes than usual lately and I really needed to take a step back. This week has been quiet and I've spent more time doing things that I used to do years ago instead of "trying something new"--something I've been doing too much of where all these "new" things have allowed me to get lost.

I went to MOCA (Geffen) to check out the Street Art exhibit and headed to Chinatown's art village in my down-time before I went to see Gayngs at the Natural History Museum. I haven't been to Chinatown in over two years--before a few "chapters of my life" happened. It brought back so many memories and feelings towards a lifestyle, certain people in my life as well as feelings of my life at a certain time. I felt so comfortable that my shyness completely vanished to where I was able to strike up conversations with anyone around me and just asked simple questions that would usually be caged up. I felt at home for the first time in a few months, and I wasn't really too sure why. I never really spent that much time in Chinatown, but it brought back so many emotions that I've been pushing myself to feel for so long.

It's finally the bittersweet end of my birthday week. I've never really celebrated my birthday before, so this time I decided to do it big with one close-knit party and another huge one that was nautical themed. I had a blast at both and I want to thank everyone that took the effort to come out and celebrate with me! I'm off of school for a few weeks, so it's time to get back to work and to plan out the rest of my Summer. I hope everyone's having a fun and safe Summer so far!

John Mayer's music has walked me through the toughest situations as well as accompanied me throughout my joys. I don't know him as a person, and I'm not here to talk about the bad press he's gotten; there's just some songs and a few of his intros that I want to share with my loved ones, but they turn away as soon as they hear that it's from *DUN DUN DUN* John Mayer. There was only a few songs on his latest album that really caught my ear, but, watching these live performances brought me back into where I was built. I'm happy.
